You can feel Nessus' pain as Heracles is finishing him off (after Nessus tried to rape Heracles' wife), and I swear that you get an inkling of Nessus' satisfaction that he has also killed Heracles, not yet, but in the future when Nessus' poisoned blood will, in turn, poison Heracles...

Me too Gallow, i just wish i could get to place where i said to myself - im totally satisfied with how much work and extra work i put into this. talent comes along with it to make the piece remarkable. staring at a bernini sculpture is an awesome sight (saw st teresa in rome), truly gifted artists.

Heracles was one of the most popular subjects for sculpture in florence. not sure about other cities but he was a popluar guy. all the sculptures he was the subject of were quite dynamic, like the one where he's werestling a lion, or fighting this person or that.

i have the ones of perseus still to post. its a bronze and the one i visited most when there
